In October, the youth will be leading the singing part of the worship service. Check out these songs. We'll be doing some of them.

DEEP THOUGHTS
Devote a specific day to acts of celebration so that eventually joy will infuse your entire life. One day a week eat foods you love to eat, listen to music that moves your soul, play a sport that stretches and challenges you, read books that refresh your spirit, wear clothes that make you happy, surround yourself with beauty--and as you do these things, give thanks God for His wonderful goodness.

DEEP THOUGHTS
JUNIOR HIGH SUNDAY SCHOOL
On Sunday we looked at growing up (Am I normal?). It can be hard since everyone grows up at a different rate. We had a chance to talk about some ins and outs of growing up and how to deal with its stresses and pressures. We affirmed and challenged each other to encourage and support one another. We looked at Luke 2:51-52. We talked about how God can relate to what it is like to grow up. Jesus was once a teenager! He went through similar challenges and trials. We can take comfort in the fact that God understands all our fears and emotions because he created us and knows each one of us better than we know ourselves.

THINK ABOUT IT!
JUNIOR HIGH SUNDAY SCHOOL
This past Sunday we looked at, "Great Expectations" - preparing for adolescence. We talked about how teenagers today deal with rapid change, confusion and stress. These factors - along with the other emotional, physical, and intellectual changes - make it hard for young people to cope. We tried to encourage questions and share worries and fears. Some verses we looked at included Psalm 119:9-10, 1 Timothy 4:12 and Titus 2:6-8.

YOUTHQUEST VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION
JUNIOR HIGH SUNDAY SCHOOL
Today we talked about 'Hangin' (free time) in our class. We talked about how we and our friends spend free time and then we looked at Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and talked about how we should spend our free time. Everyone has the same length of time every day, but each spends it differently. Time is a gift from God-he doesn't want us to waste it. But he does want us to relax and enjoy ourselves too. Our challenge for the week is to set a new goal for ourselves and use part of our extra time to get to know God better.

CORNERSTONE LAND VISIT
Last Sunday we were able to visit the land the Lord recently blessed us with. Located at 9th line and Donald Cousens (just south of Major Mac) it is a beautiful plot of 5.65 acres. We had a great time celebrating in song, prayer and even drove some stakes into the ground with some praises and prayer for the future community centre we are trusting God to provide for us in the near future.

VIDEO - STICKS AND STONES...
Check out this video from Sermon Spice that talks about how powerful our words can be - in a good or bad way
DEEP THOUGHTS
"Most of my life is spent in transit: trying to get somewhere, waiting to begin, waiting for a meeting to end, trying to get a task completed, worrying about something bad that might happen, or being angry about something that did happen. These are all moments when I am not likely to be fully present, not... aware of the voice and purpose of God." - John Ortberg
"God's church exists not for itself but for the benefit of those who are not yet members... [and] the church which lives for itself will be sure to die by itself." - Michael Green

5 MINUTE DEVOTIONS
Philippians 4:6 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Worry is going over and over the same ground in a negative way. Prayer is going over and over the same ground in a hopeful way. What worries are filling your mind today? How can you turn those worries into prayers?

JUNIOR HIGH SUNDAY SCHOOL
Today we looked at "Feeling Small" (Inferiority)
Our key verses were Psalm 139:13-14 - For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
We were challenged to accept God's love and forgiveness, even when we don't feel loved or forgiven. We talked about how God is always there for us, no matter how we feel about ourselves.

5 MINUTE DEVOTIONS
Romans 15:7 - Accept one another, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
There is nothing you can do to make God love you more than he does right now. He accepts you just the way you are. Do the same for someone else today. Who in your life needs to feel acceptance? How can you help?
