On Sunday October 23rd, we continued our 40 Day Bible Adventure. We looked at the Psalms (Day 22)
The Psalms were written by a variety of authors throughout Old Testament history. They demonstrate the witness of godly people confronting themselves, their circumstances, and the Lord with honesty and reverence. Many Psalms offer praise to God, but there are also psalms that lament wickedness and cry out for God's presence when He seems distant. The Psalms deepen our understanding of God and what it means to live as His servants in the world.

Sunday October 16th, 2011 - 40 Day Bible Adventure - Day 15
Today we looked at Day 15, "David and Goliath.
The account of David and Goliath is a good reminder of how God promises to care for and protect His faithful people. When Saul's fear became evident, Israel's soldiers were also frightened (1 Samuel 17:11), but after David stood up to Goliath, the other troops became courageous. It shouldn't matter how large our obstacles are. If we remain in a proper relationship with the Lord, He will continue to protect us and provide for us. And as we grow in this faith, others will be comforted alongside us.

Today we continued our 40 Day Bible Adventure. We reviewed days 2-7 and talked about Day 8 (The Birth and Early Life of Moses)
There are times in life when it appears God is silent. The first chapter is Exodus is one such time. Yet as the story of Moses' life and eventual leadership of Israel demonstrates, God is always present and His hand is always at work in the lives of His children. God's way and plan are not always apparent, but He cares for His people and keeps his promises. The story of Moses is an excellent illustration of this fact.
This week we will read days 8-14.

YOUTHQUEST SENIOR HIGH TRANSFORMERS
Last Friday (October 7th), we watched the movie, "To Save a Life."http://tosavealifemovie.com/
Jake is the most popular kid in school and has a promising future, but his world is rocked when tragedy strikes his childhood best friend. Now Jake is forced to ask, "Could I have saved him?" With help from his new friends, he embarks on a journey to live a life full of purpose, knocking down the sacred social barriers of high school life and befriending a loner, Jonny Garcia. But when Jonny's life spirals out of control, will Jake have what it takes to stop him from the same tragic end? Can one person really make a difference?
It was a powerful movie, and afterwards we had some intense discussions. A challenge was issued to be a missionary in our schools this week by buying lunch and sitting with a person who we normally wouldn't. Perhaps someone who is alone.

JUNIOR HIGH SUNDAY SCHOOL
Today we started our 40 Day Bible Adventure! Over the next 40 days, for about 15 minutes a day, students will commit to developing an understanding of the Bible that can truly change our lives!
Today we studied creation (Oct. 2)
The Bible opens with the story of creation found in the book of Genesis. This story serves two primary purposes: First, it identifies God as the Creator of the world. Second, it explains the origin of all things. Everything is created by God according to his sovereign power.
This week, we'll be reading days 2-7
