CORNERSTONE YOUTHQUEST BASKETBALL
Despite the snowstorm, we still had 40 boys out to play basketball as well as all 10 student volunteers. It was a great night, with both sessions decided by 1 point! In the junior session, we talked a high school basketball player who passed the ball to a mentally challenged boy on the other team (great example of character). http://www.viddler.com/v/70d1d214?secret=48017121
In the senior session we had one of our student leaders do the Character Matters talk. He did a great job talking about Nelson Mandela and the initiative he showed in South Africa. Congrats to our MVC's (most valuable character - Raksaan and Delano.

Last night, our junior highs met and continued our discussion on "The Kingdom Experiment." We finished chapter 5 and introduced chapter 6, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." (Matthew 5:8). Over the next two weeks. The youth will choose one of 7 experiments designed to bring our faith into action.

YOUTHQUEST BASKETBALL
On Wednesday - February 13, we came back to our regular program after a week off to meet with our student and adult volunteers. Everyone was glad to be back and we had a great night and a full house. This month, we are talking about integrity - We act without being prompted by others. We are eager to do what needs to be done without having to be told to do it. We take the first step towards the achievement of a goal.

CORNERSTONE FUNDRAISING CONCERT
On Friday night (February 8), Cornerstone had a great fundraising concert featuring Michael Burgess, a community youth dance troupe and one of Cornerstone's own youth. Our youth also did a great job of volunteering. Despite the worst snow storm in about 5 years (GTA), we had a great turnout and raised a lot a money towards construction of the Community-like centre.

YOUTHQUEST SENIOR HIGH
The seniors wrapped 300 thank-you packages (for the Cornerstone building fundraiser next Friday) in 35 minutes! That's 5 minutes slower than the juniors last week but the juniors had more people. Good job! We did chapter 6 - Blessed are the pure in heart. We assigned chapter 7 - Blessed are the peacemakers for homework.
