Take a moment to observe the beauty of the crafted, master planned work of God as recorded in the first 17 verses of this chapter. King James has a tendency to lose us in all the "begats" but they are included for a reason.
The generations all experienced hardships, certainly time when throw in the towel seemed better than life itself. But God had a plan.
He still does. Advent reminds us that the plan continues and includes each of us to a full measure according to God's will.
